For my FINAL college class (yes, you read that right!), my assignment was to photograph an event and create a related infographic. I chose to do one of my favorite local events: IndiaFest!
IndiaFest is an annual festival put on by the Knoxville Hindu Community Center. This was their 12th festival, but their first at World’s Fair Park. The event showcases India’s culture through dancing performances, fashion shows, yoga & cooking demonstrations, henna, a children’s booth, food and more!
The event definitely brings back memories of my 2012 trip to India. I became a big fan of Bollywood movies after that trip! So big of a fan, that I even got on stage to take part in the IndiaFest Bollywood Flash Mob (though I was hidden in the back)!
Below of some of the photos I took of this year’s festival. For my assignment, I only had to take ten photos – but there was so much going on that I ended up taking many more!
I decided to create an infographic with facts about India on it, since the purpose of the event is to share India’s culture with the local community.
